Be A Sanctuary

What kind of a FREE country needs a sanctuary city for its own citizens?!?! Well, this one. I could get on a soapbox regarding the state of the union, but I’d much rather use this as a rallying cry for the community and as an opportunity to make a declaration.
The Boston City Council showed their leadership in making this declaration. I declare myself a Sanctuary Person! You can come to me. I will be Brave so you can be safe. For too long, many of us who believe ourselves to be Safe People have hidden along the sidelines, letting others stand up or worse, watching people be hurt without standing up.
We cannot afford to do that any longer. We MUST come out of our closets and off the sidelines. If those folks shouting these days are only 50% or less, then we need to show up too!
But NOT with shouting.
With loving embrace.
Being brave enough to say, calmly: “No. A living being is worthy of Love and care. PERIOD. We do not discriminate. We do not fear them. We do NOT hate them. Period.”
Or, better, let me make this into a personal mantra:
A living being is WORTHY of Love and Care.
I do not discriminate.
I do not fear.
I do not hate!
As a counselor and one of those living beings, I can see how that mantra also applies to ME.
I am worthy of Love and Care.
I do not discriminate [against myself].
I do not fear [myself].
I do not hate [myself]!
So, lets make a pact.
Lets be a Sanctuary Person.
For ourselves, for others, for all of Life!
Please join me.
I stand with you! I will be a Sanctuary Person too!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
