Commitment?

12/29/25

A few years ago, I subscribed to Seth Godin’s blog.  He writes every day and then publishes it, regardless.  Period.  He writes and hits the send button.  I have long wanted to write but never done it. Why? Lacking discipline? Lacking follow through? What? Lacking commitment?

When I look at the rest of my life, I don’t see those traits of lack.  So what is it? Fear of being seen is much more likely.  Scared of being seen making an error, not sounding professional enough, being questioned… yadda yadda goes the internal droning on.  If a speaker was that boring, I’d walk out!  What the heck am I still listening to that voice for?!?!  Good grief!!!  When I look at it from a more objective place, it does not make sense.  And its clearly out of alignment….

Another person I know committed to walking every day for a year.  She chronicled it on instagram @Rosewalksinthewoods   She did it.  I remain impressed.  I think the only thing I can say I have done that consistently is brush my teeth every morning, because, well, eeewwww…. (no offense to you if you don’t!  Its just one of my commitments! LOL!!!

So, I think that in the spirit of Seth Godin and @Rosewalks, I am going to do this.  Write every day and post it.  Even if its a few sentences telling you “I got nothin”.  Its time for me to get out of my own way and to look this fear straight in the face.
